My teenager is really nervous about driving. Can you help?
Absolutely! Almost all new drivers are nervous, but some are more than others. Our instructors specialize in working with teens to build their confidence and settle their nerves. As they continue to improve their driving skills, they will become more relaxed and able to enjoy the experience of driving!
How long is each lesson?

Each lesson 1-6 is approximately 2 hours.  The Test Prep ONLY and Driver Refresher are approximately 3 hours. (see Pricing page for additional information)

Are your instructors certified?

In the State of Missouri there are no training requirements or certifications for private driving instructors. Our instructors are all from a professional background of Law Enforcement or Firefighter/Paramedic. The skills obtained in each of our professions enables our instructors to provide the highest quality instruction in safety and defensive driving.

How soon after getting a permit should you start taking lessons?

That is up to the student and their family. We suggest having the student spend some time driving in a parking lot at minimum before taking lessons.  Students do not need to be proficient, however it is helpful to have them a basic understanding of how it feels to apply the brake/accelerator and turning the vehicle.

Our teenager has their license but they've recently been in a crash. Can you help?

Absolutely!  We offer a Driver Refresher lesson, during which we will discuss any/all incidents the students has been involved.  This will be followed by a driving assessment with instruction on the habits/skills observed by the instructor which are hindering their driving ability.  Corrections will be made and if the instructor feels additional lessons are needed, they will discuss this at the end of the lesson.

How long does it take to complete all six lessons?

The lessons can be completed in a short time frame or spread out over several months to a year.  A few things to consider are student/Instructor schedules, the students progression, and when the student would like to take the driving test.

Can I take more than one lesson on the same day?

Our curriculum is based on the student being in the vehicle for 2 hours at one time.  Longer time periods have shown students to lose focus, which will prevent them from learning the valuable skills being instructed.  For this reason, we limit students to one lesson at a time.

What days and hours do you offer lessons?

We understand many teens are involved in various extracurricular activities which can make adding another activity seem difficult. This is why we offer driving lessons 7 days a week, including many holidays. Our typical lesson times are 10:00am, 12:30pm, 3:00pm, 5:30pm and 8pm (Night driving lesson), however we try to be flexible to accommodate your individual needs.

How do we pay for lessons?

Payment for each lesson is due within 48 hours of booking.  Forms of payment include VENMO, CASH App, or credit/debit card.  (convenience fee applies for all credit/debit card transactions)  If another form of payment is needed, we are happy to work with you, but please request this during your initial contact.

Do you have a cancelation policy?

Yes – Due to the high demand for our lessons, if a student cancels with more than a weeks notice you will receive a full refund.  If less than 1 week, you will receive a refund minus $80, however less than 48 hours there will be no refund issued.  We do understand things come up, and we are happy to work with you to reschedule lessons.  We do our best to never place students on a waiting list for lessons and must make the most of available times.

Do you supply the car?

No – every make/model of vehicle handles differently and vehicle controls (wipers, headlights, etc.) vary between manufacturers. We believe the student receives a greater benefit by learning to drive a vehicle they will drive after they get their license, and/or the vehicle they will use to practice with parents in between lessons.

I have taught my teenager how to drive, but they can't pass the driving test. Can you help?

Absolutely!  We offer a Test Prep Combo  for teens who have not taken lessons, and have failed the driving exam.  If a parents feel the student is a proficient driver, however they are struggling with specific elements of the test, we will conduct an assessment, and if the instructor agrees they have proficient driving skills, they will then take them on an exam route.  The student will be instructed as they drive the test route and perform the various elements required.  This will prepare them to take the exam with confidence! (Approximately 3 hours in length)

**Instructor has discretion to modify lessons if unsafe/inadequate skils

Do you need a driving permit before starting lessons?

Yes – students must have their driving permit prior to taking lessons. This is not only our policy, it is also the law in the State of Missouri.

Can a parent ride along during the lesson?

It is important for the student to focus on the driving instructor during the lessons, which is the reason we do not allow parents or any other person in the vehicle during the lesson. The instructor will provide the parent with feedback and tools after each lesson so the parent is aware of the students progress, as well as their individual strengths and areas for improvement.  A written copy of the evaluation will be provided to the parent upon request.

Where do we go for the lesson?

We offer door-to-door service! The driving instructor will come to your home or other location of your choosing within the county.

Why do you only take students in St. Charles County?

We are a local family owned business which is focused on improvement in our community.  In order to provide the best service to our clients, we limit our clients to St. Charles County residents in order to ensure instructor availability in an acceptable time frame, and avoid waiting lists.

Will I get a discount on my insurance for taking lessons?

The answer depends on your insurance company. Some insurance companies offer discounts and some do not. After completing at least 5 lessons you will be issued a certificate of completion which makes you eligible for a discount. You will need to contact your insurance provider for details. (Certificates issued upon request)

Are there other students in the car?

Absolutely not! We offer one-on-one instruction for all students.

Do I have to take all 6 lessons?

Although all of our lessons teach valuable driving and safety skills, you do not have to take all six.  You can select whichever lesson(s) you feel are needed, or we can customize lessons as well.  For the safety of the student and instructor, permit drivers must take Lesson 1 prior to any other lessons.  The instructor will be happy to make recommendations based on their observations.   If you are only wanting a Test Prep Only lesson, this is only offered after a permit driver has failed the exam without taking lessons and is at the discretion of the instructor.
